I went for scan today thinking 7w6d but was told baby measures 6w5d. Would this be 6w5d from gestation which technically would mean I'm 8w5d pregnant due to adding on the two weeks which u r already classed as when u conceive?? mind is working overtime!
Re: Help! Calculate my dates?
No. It doesn't work like that. It makes you're 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant. hatever size the baby is measuring is the amount you're pregnant. You probably ovulated later than you realized. But if you're confused, call your doctor.
ETA: Typo
They already added the two weeks when they told you that the baby measured 6w5d. So you're 6w 5d pregnant. If you were going off your LMP its not a very accurate way to determine how far along you are as most women do not ovulate on cycle day 14.

The LMP is a guess. It's usually good enough, so if there's no reason to have an early ultrasound, most OBs just roll with that. If you do have an early ultrasound, that will give more accurate information, as it is based on the baby's actual development and not a guess about when you probably ovulated (implantation time can vary, too). Your due date could change, but the whole due date thing is pretty fuzzy anyway. You're really "due" any time 3 weeks before your due date until 2 weeks after.
Really, if you get a later due date, that could be a good thing. You wouldn't want to be pressured into an early induction if your LMP due date was inaccurate.

I never thought of it that way. I also was sure about my LMP, but because of measurements during an early us they pushed my dd back 5 days. This didn't bother me, for I understand all dd are in the middle of your expected "delivery time frame." Now looking at it after your comments, that makes sense- better they guess late than early!
