Subchorionic Hemmorhage

Has anyone else had this problem? Basically the placenta is partially detaching from my uterine wall. It's scary but it's also frustrating being on complete pelvic rest when being intimate is the only relaxing thing for me lately. I now have to go through more doctor's appointments and have more frequent ultrasounds. I am glad they are keeping an eye on things, but it doesn't help my nerves. Has anyone else experience/is experiencing this?

Re: Subchorionic Hemmorhage

  • I had one in my previous pregnancy. And I have one again now. You are lucky you are only on pelvic rest. I am on complete bedrest right now.

  • Sex is the only relaxing thing for you??  Really?   Thats a new one.  For the most part sex sucked while pregnant for me.

I had a big one with DS and was on pelvic rest until 24 weeks. They can be located in different spots...one tiny end of my placenta was lifted up at the first u/s I had, but the majority of mine was below and in front of the baby away from the placenta, posing less risk.  If yours is really under the placenta they will have to watch it more closely for abruption.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • I have a rather large one that has caused very heavy on and off bleeding. I have been on complete bedrest since 12/31. I know from google SCH's can cause placenta problems but my doctor has never mentioned it and I am too afraid to ask.

I know its scary unfortunately all you can do is follow your doctors orders and wait it out. My understanding is they generally resolve themselves by 20 weeks. I also had one last pregnancy but it was much smaller, it resolved itself within two weeks and I was only on pelvic rest not full bed rest.

  • I am almost hoping that this is the reason for my bright red bleeding! I had the same issue at 6 weeks and my OB didn't order an ultrasound. I have my first ultrasound on Tuesday and am hoping for an answer to this bleeding that does equal miscarriage.

  • Wow - I have this too, but haven't been told to be on pelvic rest.  My Dr. said it was small so he wasn't too worried about it.  Hopefully it stays that way.  :)

dont freak out that you weren't told to be on pelvic or bedrest, especially if yours is small :) Doctors have different views on whether or not rest helps. Mine put me on bed rest but then said there is no research that proves rest helps, the only thing they do know is it can keep you from accidentally doing something that might make it worse
