Hi ladies, I have a 52 hour insurance class Monday-Saturday then a State exam next Monday which I heard is very hard. I'm having the HARDEST time ever studying & get distracted very easily. Does anyone have any tips that has worked for them to get though a class or test? Maybe I should start by getting off TB & opening my book lol.
Re: Tips on studying please
Go to the library. Its quiet and there's no one to talk to there!
Good luck on your test! Those insurance tests are not fun - I hope you rock it the first time!

To exit my graduate program, I had to take a God awful exam that hurt my brain. I found the most success by studying this way: Read a statement, paragraph, bullet, whatever and then re-write it in my own words. I would then continuously go back and recite, by memory, what I had written before going onto the next statement. This helped it to stick to my memory and I passed with flying colors. GL.
When I was studying for the bar exam, I made a schedule for my day that built in breaks for meals and relaxation and broke the studying down into smaller, manageable chunks. I also scheduled some study time at a coffee shop each day, for a change of scene.
That exam was open book, so I didn't need to memorize every single thing, but if you do need to memorize a lot of things, I'd recommend taking notes on what you are reading. Reorganizing information by handwriting the information always helps me to learn it!
Good luck!

A friend and i were just talking the other day about how hard it would be for us to go to school now, because of all the technology distractions... when I was in college, I didn't even have a cell phone.
Go to library. Leave cell / laptop/tablet in your car. Bring some cold water (helps me stay awake). Let yourself take breaks every 15-20 minutes to walk around...
Good luck!
This. I have such a crappy attention span that not only do I go to the library, but I have to lock myself in one of their "Quiet Rooms" with zero noise. I would also recommend spending a few minutes looking up studying tips online if you don't know an effective way to study.
