Talk to your doctor or midwife. I spoke to my midwife about this yesterday. I hit 11 weeks yesterday and she told me to wait another week before I get one. She said it should really be in 2nd trimester--12 weeks is the early edge of that, but she felt it would be okay.
Check with your provider though--they may feel differently.
I agree that this is a question for your doctor. The general consensus among medical professionals is that all pregnant women should have a flu shot. If you're still not convinced then it's time to do your own research and come up with your own conclusion....but I wouldn't trust the opinions of internet strangers, no matter how well meaning.

Yes, that is when I got mine (preservative free) and my OB highly recommended it, even in first tri. It is also recommended by the CDC. The risks of the flu are much more serious than getting the flu shot. I am due in May but saw this post and wanted to answer since there seem to be a lot of misconceptions about the flu shot.
My OB gave it to me during my first prenatal appt this week and said there shouldn't be any problems getting one this early in 1st tri. Just remember it takes 2 weeks to go into effect, so the longer you wait to get one, the longer you will be unprotected. GL!
Awesome! Glad I now feel insecure for following my medical provider's advice. *sigh* Not trying to be snarky--it's just been a REALLY stressful week and I'm home alone worrying about every little thing

Think positive. Every hour you're home alone is an hour you're not out being exposed to the flu!
Re: Is flu shot safe at 9 weeks?!?!

Basically, they recommend it at any stage of pregnancy. Because pregnant women are more susceptible to the effects of the flu.
