I had my appointment this morning, which was good but getting there was a complete disaster! My daughter has had a stuffy nose lately and while we were driving I heard her making a choking noise. It was TERRIFYING. By the time I pulled over (was on the interstate mid ramp when she made the first noise) I found out she had puked ALL OVER the backseat. Guess who was stupid and didn't have extra clothes for her in the car? Yep, this girl. This was my first appointment with this new practice and since it took longer than expected for my old practice to send over my records they told me that if this appointment didn't work out for some reason and I couldn't take my glucose test today I wouldn't be able to go to their clinic. I don't think my daughter was actually sick, I think she choked on some mucus in the back of her throat and then as a result ended up puking.
Luckily we were able to stop at a Kohls on the way where I was able to clean up most of it with wipes, wrap her in a blanket (luckily her onsie didn't get too bad) and bring her into the store. This probably looked ridiculous since we're in Minnesota where the weather isn't that warm right now. I literally ran through the store with my huge belly and toddler in one arm where I picked out the first outfit that would fit her that I could find. I purchased it, threw her in the car, and was able to make the appointment on time- whew! I did find out I accidentally bought her capris which looked ridiculous with her boots and sweat shirt but it got the job done.
At my appointment I found out that I'm up 4 lbs from my prepregnancy weight, YES! I had severe morning sickness for the first 20ish weeks of my pregnancy (I was on home health care and got three bags of IV fluids a day) and lost 20 lbs so it was a relief to see that I'm gaining now and I'm on the right track.
