Today this bagger at the grocery store tells me "well you should have thought of that when you named him."
I had DS with me and she had asked his name. When I told her Rylan she said, " oh! Do you call him Ry Ry?" I said no, not yet but my dad calls him Ry.
I don't care what people call him, but I'm going to call him Rylan until he gets used to his name. Who cares what his nickname might be? I just thought this lady was kinda odd to just assume that I didn't like Ry Ry as a nickname when I didn't even say I didn't like it. Glad she didn't try giving me her two cents about any other baby related thing cuz I have a feeling she was one of those people who has to have an opinion about everything. It would have gotten ugly.
Re: Who cares?
I would have said, "Exactly, when I named him, because he's MY child."
People are so ridiculous. I can't believe some of the things I read on here. Who cares what you call your kid?
FWIW, I hate the nickname Ry-Ry, so good call on that one.
SCANDAL!
What a strange thing for her to say.
"Do you call your baby [this nickname I totally just made up and you wouldn't know unless you were reading my mind, total stranger]? NO?! YOU DON'T?!"
That is bizarre.
