February 2013 Moms

deep breaths, deep breaths...

Well, this morning a contractor came and gutted our master bathroom, and now there is a toilet and a vanity in the nursery (we found out we had mold behind our shower walls, bye bye bathroom).  Last night I found out DH is working two weeks worth of nights in February.  One at the beginning and one in the middle.  He has exactly four days off in February.  My to-do list is so long.

I'm freaking out just a wee bit.  I've decided baby girl is only welcome to come between February 12th - February 15th.  Really hope she is a good listener!

  • I'm in the same boat, pretty much. We are getting our entire bathroom redone this week. It's our only bathroom, so I have to drive to my friend's house in order to go to the bathroom during the day, and drive to my inlaws' house to shower at night. And between work and school I have hardly seen my husband at all since Monday morning and won't again until Friday morning. Our nursery has no dresser or closet, so the crib is full of baby stuff. It looks like Babies R Us threw up in there.

    We can do this!

Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
  • sometimes they cooperate. The only way I was going to be able to stay in nursing school when pregnant with my daughter was if she came on a non school, non clinical day, preferably weekend.  She complied, lol, and was born on a Saturday. I went back to class on Tuesday.

Whew!  We at least have another bathroom.  You're right, we can do this!

  • Kudos to you ladies for being brave enough to do renovations this close to having a baby! We renovated our kitchen (completed gutted) over the summer and lived without a kitchen for 3 months. It was hell but worth it in the end. It was really hard to eat well during that time because we had to move all our food / table / fridge into the dining room. No stove/dishwasher/sink/prep space for 3 months! I had to wash dishes in the 2nd floor bathroom sink. I can't imagine dealing with that now. Good luck and I hope your new rooms are done in time for your LOs!
