Hello,
This is my first time posting but since I have no friends with babies in the area I need to reach out for advice. Im somewhat new to the Atlanta area and live in midtown currently. I delivered my son oct 24th 2012 at piedmont. At the time I went with piedmont peds for his care specially dr roe. Im considering switching practices, not because I dislike them but I think id prefer a smaller practice that would be able to get to know myself and my son on a more personal level. I'd be willing to make a trip OTP for a great doctor. Thanks in advance!
Rebecca
Re: Pediatrician rec's?
A ton of my friends go to Piedmont Pediatrics and love them.
We go to Dr. Sells at Intown Pediatrics and absolutely adore her and her entire staff. I love that it is a small practice. The other huge bonus is that it is in a small neighborhood retail district, so you can literally park right in front of their front door and walk right in. No decks/elevators, no paying for parking, etc. They are in the Glenwood Park development in Grant Park and I can't say enough great things about them.
We're with Intown Pediatrics as well, but I just heard the other day that they're not currently accepting new patients. I think you can call and ask to be placed on their wait list.
Ditto to all of this, except we see Dr. Koenig. I haven't seen Dr. Roe, but know Dr. Elliott and Dr. Koenig very well and they are extremely personable. Even though we were referred to a specialist to do Mia's surgery, Dr. Koenig was in touch with us every step of the way and knows us very well. Maybe you can make a switch?
Sure thanks all for your input, i may just need to give piedmont Peds some more time. I was a bit overwhelmed by how big and busy they were, but that may be because I'm from a small town and always went to one general practice doctor.
Also do you all know of any good moms groups in ATL? I couldn't seem to find too many active ones on meetup.com
Piedmont Peds is very busy especially if you go in the afternoons. I do not know anyone that uses dr roe so I'm not sure how he is. But dr Elliott and dr Koenig are awesome if you want another doctor. I have never had an issue getting an appointment with dr Elliott even the one day a couple of weeks ago when I called at 400pm.
Not sure about groups. I meet most of my mommy friends through church
I just called today and they are accepting new patients.
OP, thanks for posting this, it was a big help for me as these are both in the area I'm looking for. I was torn between Piedmont and Intown, but after reviewing them and talking to the offices I'm going to go with Intown. I like the closeness of smaller practices, and I also like that they are very much pro-vaccination.
