I am almost 24 weeks and last week I started noticing my ribs are getting sore. Today the pain is almost unbearable. Does anyone have any advice on how to alleviate the pain? Will it be like this for the rest of the pregnancy? People have said I am carrying high and I am starting to believe them but I have a long way to go yet still!
Re: rib pain
SIL had this issue, she carried high and the baby kicked her ribs almost exclusively - she found that stretching helped a lot, basically just leaning back while standing (hands resting on her lower back) then bending forward trying lol to touch her toes...She would also lean side-to-side to stretch out her "side belly" as she put it. She did this several times a day during her third tri!
Sorry I don't have better suggestions - maybe call your dr?
When I was pregnant with the twins, they would occasionally kick my ribs right out of place (I didn't even know that was possible, but it is). A visit to the chiropractor was EXTREMELY helpful, and I would have never survived that last trimester without it.
I would go in and see if they can alleviate your pain! It is so very worth it, trust me!
Yes, I'm at 28 weeks and I've had rib pain for at least a month. I'm assuming it will only get worse!
Stretching helps. I heat my back but not the front ribs with a heating pad most days. I do go to the chiropractor - helps for my back - not sure that it helps with my ribs, though.
