I have had a mild cough that has come and gone since practically Labor Day. I'd have it for a week or two, it would go away for a week, and then it would be back. I ignored it because it wasn't a bad cough, just enough to annoy me. No other cold symptoms, just the cough.
Now however, I definitely have a cold, and my cough has turned violent. But it's not all day... just a few attacks, but when they happen, it HURTS. My chest hurts, my muscles hurt, my lungs feel like they are going to expel from my chest. No other complaints... no fever, no sinus issues (other than a somewhat stuffy nose that comes on at night). Just a ridiculous cough.
I'm seeing a doctor today, but just curious, anyone gotten treated with something like this, so I know what to expect? Can they give me anything, or am I going to get the "you'll have to ride it out" verdict?
Re: nasty cough
I have no idea what they'll tell you, but I do know this: coughing since Labor Day -- four MONTHS? -- is NOT normal, and you need to go seek medical attention. It could be allergies, but it could be something more serious.
Good luck.
Maybe you have something similar, try to pay attention to when the cough occurs, maybe you can figure out a trigger.
I was thinking asthma too. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it though to find out for sure that it's nothing more serious.
Can't wait to meet baby Liam Paul!

I should clarify, the mild cough I had the past few months was not what I have now... I chalked it up to allergies and just ignored it. I'm normally not someone who shys away from doctor appointments, so it really was just an annoying symptom, but nothing I thought was serious enough to warrant a visit.
What I have had the past week however is very different... definitely virus/cold/whatever. They are like night and day in difference in feeling, sound, etc... I'm just hoping I don't get the "sorry, you're pregnant, we can't give you any treatments" verdict..
