Hey ladies! Just curious, how are y'all's faces looking? hehe my face had finally cleared up about 6 weeks into pregnancy and then BAM breakouts!! I look prepubescent! Lol haven't had this much acne since I was about 14! I was thinking of trying proactiv..have any of you had acne problems yet? Any proactiv users? Or any other skin regimens that you use?

Re: ACNE
Yep, just call me pizza face.
I usually use Nivea face wash and it usually works just fine. But all of a sudden I'm all broke out. Used to us Proactiv ... and it worked well, too. If you find something that works, let me know!

I don't this time, but when I was pg with DS, my acne was horrible. I had it on my face, hairline, neck, back and shoulders!!
Nothing really worked great, but I did use cetaphil wash and it seemed to tame it a little.
It didnt clear up until I was 3 months post partum- hormones do some crazy things to our bodies!! GL..hope it goes away for you.
lol good luck!

My face was pretty bad a couple of weeks ago. I found Belli anti-acne wash which is safe to use while pregnant. I also got Belli acne spot treatment. I got burts bees night cream for sensitive skin since it's 99% natural. I use these these at night and cetaphil gentle cleanser in the morning. I was worried about my other stuff and didn't want to drive myself crazy.
Belli brand can be found at Ulta or amazon.

I just started using the Belli face wash, spot treatment and moisturizer and am liking it so far! Not a dramatic change but I notice some slight improvements. It's only been 5 or so days anyway. I also LOVE the scent of the face wash and moisturizer.
I use and love mary kay facial cleansers and they have an on the spot acne treatment that works great.
I've had HORRIBLE acne for a year now, and I didn't go off BC until last March. Even in high school I never had it a fraction of what it is now. Its been a constant battle, but since I got preggo, its gotten exponentially worse. Everything is more angry and inflamed. Makes me not want to leave the house. Doesn't help that I'm a "picker", either, lol (gross, I know).
I've tried proactive before, but it didn't seem to work for me. Even after giving it 2 months, it wasn't making a difference. I tend to use a combination of things now that has at least stopped it from getting worse. I use Clean and Clear facial wash (on an exfoliating pad) and astringent, then C. Booth glycolic acid and then C. Booth AHA moisturizer.
Ugh, I haven't broken out this badly since I was 14, and it's EVERYWHERE! I even have zits on my butt! Ugh!
Has anyone tried the Yes to Tomatoes products? I've been looking at them but I can't find a complete ingredient list anywhere, and I don't know if it's pregnancy safe, and beyond that, I want to know how well it works for people. I can't use stuff that's super drying to my skin since part of my problem is dry skin which irritates breakouts and makes them worse.
Growing up I never had any issues with acne... but that's a whole different story now. My chin looks like it belongs to a 15 year old boy- it's terrible!!
I'm tempted to go visit the dermatologist because the usual face cleansers and OTC acne products are NOT working. I hate this!!

For those looking for a chemical free solution, try this: African Black Soap (make sure it is pure African Black soap, not something called that with a bunch of chemicals like sodium lauryl sulfate in it) to wash, followed by a very light lotion moisturizer during the day and straight argan oil at night. You can get all of these at cleopatraschoice dot com. Also, Target carries Shea Moisture brand African Black Soap in their natural cosmetics section. The light lotion moisturizer I use is by a brand called Aubrey. I purchase that online as well. Cost effective, and it has worked wonders for my skin.
It's not just me! This is very comforting. My face was cleared up and smooth and then the past two weeks, wham, I'm all broke out. I'm not sure what I'm going to use. I was going to wait it out and use my normal facial scrub. Maybe I'll get a good wham soon.
