Hi! I love all of your updates lately. Congrats on getting out of the house alone with Charlie last week! That is a HUGE milestone. I don't think I did that until Carter was 4 weeks alone. Before then, all excursions were with DH, and I remember I was freaked out about handling the stroller/carseat without him.
We're lame and I don't think we're going anywhere particularly special. We just went to a $$$ steakhouse out here last week that DH has been wanting to try, so that was pretty much our budget for a nice SF dinner. Boo! :-( Whenever we're in town, we try to do an EyeSpy dinner or two, so we've got a couple of those scheduled. We're signed up to do Lark Creek Steak which is probably our favorite steakhouse, so I'm excited about that. The budget is never enough for us there, but it's a nice subsidy.
Haha - we had the carseat lesson, but the stoller still confuses me...that's this week's challenge. And I know I need to use the wrap/sling, but I am taking total baby steps.
Was your place worth it?
I LOVE Lark Creek Steak...and I know what you mean about the budget. I think the few times we went, our bill was closer to $200 (and S is a vegetarian!) But the $100 does help. Have you had their brussel sprouts braised in Fat Tire? Yum. And they always have great desserts too.
You're married to a vegetarian?! Now that's a fun fact about you that I never knew! I went on a couple of dates with a vegan many, many years ago and just thought that whole lifestyle was fascinating. He took me to dinner at some hard core vegan restaurant in SF, and I remember I didn't like any of it. Not even the mashed potatoes!
And desserts...ha ha! We usually end up getting 3 because their entire list is so tempting and we just can't decide on 1 to share, or even 2.
Sadly, our place wasn't worth it. It was super loud and seemed to cater to the business dinner crowd so it wasn't very romantic. This is the 3rd time we had reservations - the first 2 times, DH was sick and we had to cancel. The food was good, but I guess I expect food + ambiance when you're spending so much (and when it's such a freakin' treat to have a nice dinner out without the munchkins!).
That's a bummer - especially when you are looking foward to a place so much. That's the way we felt about Boulevard - it wasn't all we expected. And you wonder if it's worth a 2nd chance.
S is actually a pescatarian (thank you merriam webster fo making it official!) so the fish eating makes our lives easier, although I could never live w/o a burger! We've been to a few of the veg restaurants and one (millenium) is actually really good!
