Is it possible to "cheat the system" with GD? (long)

I was in the hospital for 3 nights @ 33 weeks with preterm labor. My ultrasound revealed that LO had a large abdominal circumference so they decided to check my blood sugar. My blood sugar went wacky, most likely due to the steroids, but they gave me one shot of insulin and had me eat on a schedule in order for my glucose to be checked. (have a meal, wait 2 hours, get checked, eat a snack with protein, wait, eat a meal, wait 2 hours, get checked) When I left the hospital things were ok, but they wanted my blood sugar to be tested at my next appointment, which was 5 days later.

So, I was of course freaking out because of the ultrasound, threatened delivery, bed rest, etc., and wanted to do what was best for LO. I didn't have any sugar and tried to eat on a similar schedule/diet as I did at the hospital. My blood test at my appointment was a 112, so I was cleared (my GD test @28 weeks gave me a 108 reading). Is it possible that I accidentally cheated the system by eating like someone with GD before my blood test? I've still been sticking to the overall diet, although not as strictly as I would probably have to if I were checking my sugars. i thought a passing score would be a relief, but now I'm just worried that I somehow snuck by and still have GD and it's untreated. I don't have any symptoms, just mommy guilt.

Is that even possible?

You still had a drink loaded with sugar. If you had GD then that sugar would have made your numbers much higher.

The test at my appointment was just the finger prick blood sugar test, I didn't have to do the drink.
