Favorite Spelling

I have been liking this name a lot lately and I am just realizing that there seems to be a lot of legitimate spellings so which is your favorite?

Vivienne

Vivian

Vivianne

Vivien

Re: Favorite Spelling

  • Love the name! I like Vivienne or Vivianne.
  • Vivian is my favorite, because it's simple and straight forward.  Vivienne would be next because I love the look of it, but I know personally I would lose track of the n's (although as I'm typing I kind of love that it has 2 of each letter)

  • I like Vivienne- more emphasis on the last syllable with that French spelling.

  • I love Vivienne if you speak French or have some ties to the French language - otherwise I just think it kind of looks like it's trying too hard.

I would pronounce Vivianne differently from Vivian. Same with Vivienne. The only two I'd pronounce the same way are Vivian and Vivien.

Of those two, I don't mind either - but I prefer Vivian.

  • I'd say Vivianne.  I pronounce that Vivi-Anne if you were going to Vivi-en then perhaps choose the Vivien spelling.

  • I like Vivien, as in Vivien Leigh (even though she was born Vivian)

  • I would pronounce only Vivian and Vivien the same, as in Vivi-in.

    Vivianne = Vivi-Anne to me,

and Vivienne = Vivi-Enne (mopre emphasis on the final Enne).

  • Like pps mentioned, I would pronounce some of these differently.  But speaking of spelling alone, I like Vivienne and Vivian.

  • I like Vivienne because its kind of fancy :)

This would be cute to show her some day when she's older and she's just going by "Viv" ;)
  • My vote goes to Vivienne.

  • Vivian looks the best to me. No extra letters and it may be easier for her to spell also.
