Uh, DS is allergic to BEEF.

WTF? Not that we eat a whole lot anyway, but now we have to switch to ground turkey which is a LOT more expensive. It's worth it because it means that he might stop feeling so crappy all the time, but I have never heard of beef allergies. I didn't even know they tested for that!

Oh, and he's allergic to dogs too. Guess we won't be getting another dog anytime soon.

I have never heard of beef allergies either.  How strange.    Did the dr say if its one he may grow out of? 

Sorry about the dog allergies.  Im hoping none of our 3 have allergies so we can have a dog.  DH is allergic to cats (some of them) but wants a cat so bad.

We have a friend who is allergic to the hormones in the beef-- not the beef itself. They buy their meat from a "organic/hormone free" person... maybe that'll help?

is he allergic to milk too?  ds was very sensitive to all things bovine when he was very little.  i had to eliminate beef from my diet while bfing. 

 he will not touch beef now for some reason.

I would bet it's something IN the beef, not beef itself. Like hormones/antibiotics.

i work with a guy who's allergic to beef.  that was the first I had heard of it...he had a TON of allergies...he was allergic to HFCS and several vegetables like carrots and peppers.  I can't remember everything he said, but the list was long.

We use nothing but ground turkey and it is actually a lot cheaper than beef.  We buy the frozen  lb. chubs.
