Trouble TTC

3T Weekly Check In

Hi everyone!

Sorry the check ins have been so sporadic. This week is going to be an informal check in as I'm currently bumping from my phone since I'm on vacation in western Colorado and didn't bring a laptop with me.

So let's hear it...How is everyone? Updates?

QOTW: What did you learn in 2012? What was your best memory from this year? What do you hope to learn, accomplish, see, or do in 2013?

ETA: If you would like to be added to the check in, please provide the following info.

  1. Name, if you wish
  2. When you started TTC
  3. Diagnosis, if you have one
  4. What treatments you've done
Me: 25
Dx PCOS (June 2006, re-confirmed March 2012), Anemia (May 2010-Still fighting to correct it), Fibromyalgia (May 2011)

Re: 3T Weekly Check In

  • I'm still on a treatment break until at least July. Divorce papers are officially being filed when I get back from vacation. I did find out that while my medical insurance through my job isn't the best, it does offer much better IF coverage than I had when I was married.

QOTW: 2012 has taught me more than I ever thought possible. I've learned who my friends are. I've learned I'm stronger than I ever imagined. I've discovered who I am and learned that I can work with young children. My best memory from this year would be the first time I heard my nephews call out for me. In 2013, I hope to learn to be at peace with my family situation. I hope to be back in school, working on completing my bachelors degree. I hope to have a chance to travel and see some of the country...and hopefully, meet some of my 3T sisters.

  • Update: I have a cyst. No 2012 pregnancy for me. And after tomorrow, my deductible starts over so it may be a while before we try again but we'll see. The nurse said the RE would probably want to look at Femara or injects next time, which is fine with me. I'm so over Clomid at this point.

What did I learn in 2012? Timelines are pointless. I was so sure this was going to be our year. Also, sometimes pregnant people are stupid. There's someone on my fb friends list currently who's complaining about how hard it is to pick a date for her baby shower. Kinda makes me want to smack her.

What was my best memory? Seeing my nephew for Christmas. The look on his face when we gave him his present. And having all of my brothers home. It's the first time in a couple years all of us have been home at the same time.

In 2013, I hope to get pregnant. I also hope to find a new job. My program will be done in March and I hope the new degree will bring a new career. Also in March, we will finally move out of this awful apartment. Last, but not least, I want to try to focus on my relationship with DH. Infertility is hard on all of us, I'm sure, and DH needs to know I'm not just with him for his sperm. Wink

  • What did you learn in 2012? Infertility has shown me that I can't plan everything. Some things are going to happen when they happen.  I also learned who is a true friend and are there for us during this tough time. I became a lot closer to a neighbor, she asks good questions and always lets me know that she's there to listen. Also my DH has been very good through all my crazy mood swings and crying fits in the last year.
What was your best memory from this year? I got a lot closer to my dad and stepmom this year. We went out (WI) and visited them a couple times. We also told them about our TTTC and they responded well. No stupid comments, so I was happy.
What do you hope to learn, accomplish, see, or do in 2013? Our RE appointment is February 6, so hopefully we can get a diagnosis and figure out what our plan is. Also we're hoping they'll do something about DH''s low testosterone.

    Name: Jenny

    TTC since 10/2011

Diagnosis- DH low testosterone and lower count, Me- no tests yet

Married 8/21/2010, Off BCP April 2011, Started TTC 10/2011

  • I would like to be added! My name is Heather. We have been TTC since May 2011. I have PCOS. I have taken Metformin, stopped after six months of agonizing stomach cramps and I have been on two rounds of Clomid, which I did not respond to. We are currently on a med break and will start back up again in February with Femara and Ovidrel.

I learned who my true friends are. A few people who I considered my closest friends abandoned me when I needed them most and I haven't spoken to them since, which is sad since we have been friends for five years... My best memory is my cross country vacation with my family from Wisconsin to Buffalo, NY, then to Chicago, then back home. In a van. It was fantastic and something I will never forget!

For 2013, I am hoping I have a better job, still with the same company I work for, just a higher up position (which I am interviewing for on Thursday!! FX I get it!!) and I hope we get pregnant this year...I really really hope we do. I don't want to pass the two year mark. It terrifies me.

What do you hope to learn, accomplish, see, or do in 2013? if the baby stuff doesn't work, we want to do more road tripping, more traveling,  and try to move into a new place.

What did I learn in 2012? That my body hates me sometimes and will not work the way it's supposed to. I also learned that I am much stronger than I thought I was. And crying in your car in the parking lot is totally acceptable after a bad RE appt.

Best memory from 2012: Getting to marry my best friend! Almost to our 1 year mark (Jan 6) and I love him more everyday!

Looking forward to 2013 :Buying our first house and hopefully we can finally find the right meds to make my body work. And we just booked a late anniversary trip to Vegas in Feb!

  • Still waiting, I should be able to test on the 5th. My trigger is still barely grasping on at 10dpt. Even though we do not know if we are out or not yet we have inject class Wednesday so that if it is a fail we start them immediately this next cycle.

  • Hi ladies,

I'm Anne and I have been TTC since 3/12. I have anovulatory PCOS and Lichen Sclorosis. I am in the 2WW of my first cycle of clomid with ovidrel and TI. I am having major PMS symptoms right now so I think this cycle is a bust for me.

In 2012 I learned that I my business is a real possibility. I started it in 2009 but it has been very slow growing. This year I actually gained some momentum and I think in 2013 it will just continue to get better.

My best memory this year was having my family and DH's family over for Thinksgiving. Oh, and DH giving my a guitar for my birthday!

In 2013, like everyone here, I would like to gt pregnant. I would also like to grow my business more and become more proficient on my guitar.

  • Hi everyone, happy new year!

I'm TTA until March to let my uterus heal. I have a feeling that once the holidays are over the time is really going to drag so I'm hoping to plan at least a long weekend away in Feb.

My favorite memory of 2012 was our trip to London and Paris, I saved for that vacation for years and it was amazing! I learned that I'm really bad at handling stress. I had family issues to deal with that caused even more stress than our TTTC and I had a hard time managing it all.

I hope that 2013 is a fairly calm year. I know that there will be IFrelated stress but I expect that and can deal with it. I'd just like everything else to feel normal for a while! We're thinkng about listing our house this spring so hoping to buy a forever home, and we're thinking about applying with a local german shepherd rescue to adopt a second dog. And in general just hoping for good health and continued employment for both H and I since the economy is still shaky. Oh and of course a pregnancy :

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

TTC since Sept 2011, Unexplained IF
    Oct 12 - Jan 14: 3 clomid/TI cycles, 2 hysteroscopies, 2 IUIs, 1 BFP (MMC @ 12w), 2 more IUIs

    Baby boy arrived 11/13/14!

    1. When you started TTC Went off BCP in July 2011, but started medicated cycles in January 2012.
    2. Diagnosis, if you have one Annovulatory PCOS
    3. What treatments you've done This will be our 6th (and final) round of Clomid and this will also be our 4th IUI.

QOTW: What did you learn in 2012? Patience truly is a virtue!  I also learned that you can't stop making plans because of "what might happen in the future" that just puts your whole life on hold, which is not fun at all.

What was your best memory from this year?

My trip with DH to Germany, Austria and Italy

What do you hope to learn, accomplish, see, or do in 2013?

I want to continue my mantra of "grace" during this IF process.  There have been so many times when i wanted to lash out at people or say mean things and I am glad that I have been able to keep it together and I hope that continues in 2013.  Also I hope that I can continue to be open with people about this process, it is nice to have some people around me who know what we are going through

Update: Currently CD1 of cycle #22 this will be our first IUI.

I learned so much in 2012 about TTC, my body, medications, all of you! My best memory of 2012 was my husband giving me my very first trigger injection. HA and everyday I was able to spend with him and my family.

In 2013 I hope to accomplish my first IUI, take a vacation, buy a condo/house, and praying & hoping for my BFP.

  • Update: We are doing another round of Letrozole 5mg, trigger, and TI this month.  I'm going to pick up my meds today.

What did I learn in 2012?  I have no control over IF.  I have to learn to let go.  I also learned that a lot of my friends and some family really suck and I need to get rid of the toxic people in my life.

My best memory from this year was my vacation with DH for our anniversary.  We had such a great time and fell even deeper in love.

For 2013 I hope to learn to let things people do or say not bother me.  Speak my mind a little more and not get ran over all the time.  I hope to focus on myself more and get more hobbies besides TTC all the time!

I also just want to say how grateful I am for all of you this year!  I really don't know how I would have made it through without you!

  • Update: Waiting on AF to show for IVF#3. They say 3rd time is the charm, well we shall see :) I learned in 2012 to live life, because no matter how much planning, things happen. I will admit 2012 has been horrible, so trying to think of best moment, I would have to say being able to hear I was pregnant. Even if it did not last long, to see the smile on hubbs face. In 2013, I plan on finding an amazing job, finding out if we will have children, living life to fullest.

  • I'm about half way through last cycle before IUI#4.  Looking forward to the New Year, new cycle and refilled HSA LOL.

I learned that I am stronger than I ever thought.  I'm becoming more comfortable this year with the idea of CFNBC if that's what comes in 2013.  But I've also tried (and I think achieved) becoming a more positive person with the hopeful outlook trying to believe more than ever that it will happen for us this year.

My best memory from this year would be going to the Minus 5 Ice Bar in Vegas.  It was something DH and I had talked about for a while and it was one of the highlights of our vacation (Well that and eating at Bobby Flays OMG that meal was orgasmic!)

What do I hope to see?  Two pink lines.  In 2013 obviously I hope to achieve successful pregnancy, but if not I hope to achieve peace in my life ahead without children.  I hope to learn new things (recipes, ways to be even more organized, maybe finally learn to quilt?).  I'd also like to see our debt continue to go down and actually see the possibility of a house in our future (that's more likely for 2014).  I don't know - I'm hopeful for all things ahead!  And with the love of my life by my side.

  • Hi Ladies,

I would like to be added as well. Below is my information:

QOTW: What did you learn in 2012? What was your best memory from this year? What do you hope to learn, accomplish, see, or do in 2013?

I learned a lot in the past year about life, love, friendship and trust. I am grateful for those lessons. I love and appreciate my friends and family so much more. In regards to IF, thanks to this board I learned you must be monitored on Clomid and you must be your advocate with your body, don?t depend on anyone else.

I am looking forward to the New Year with a sense of hope and excitement. In 2013 I hope to see a BFP.

ETA: If you would like to be added to the check in, please provide the following info.

    1. Amy (Morris811)
    2. When you started TTC 11/11
    3. Diagnosis, if you have one: PCOS

  • Happy New Years ladies.

We are currently in the 2ww of IUI#3. This is our final IUI before moving on to IVF. I had 3 follies and DH had his best number yet (9.3) so I have some hope. It's hard to have too much hope though.

QOTW: What did you learn in 2012? What was your best memory from this year? What do you hope to learn, accomplish, see, or do in 2013?

Well, unfortunately we learned that we have MFI and would need help to have a baby. My best memory was our trip to Whistler with my whole family. I really hope to finally see that positive test in 2013.

    4. Acupuncture, reflexology, naturopathy & 3 cycles of clomid (50mg) - hoping to get in for IUI this spring

Update: On day 11 of a medicated cycle. Lots of wonderful side effects with my skin and mood. Survived the holidays with babies and relatives and lots of anticipated stress. I was worried mine & DH's extended families would be pestering us about babies - amazingly, it didn't happen. Today, I'm feeling ridiculously positive, like this is "our cycle" (as if I haven't said that before!). Going to try my best to stay positive & calm. Hopefully dig out some of my yoga and meditation DVDs.

QOTW: In 2012 I learned that this is not going to get any easier with time. As the pregnant relatives & friends are adding up around us, and it's in our faces every day in the media, I notice that it never hurts any less. That sucks. I hope that 2013 brings strength and endurance and of course, probably like many of you, my deepest wish would be to finally get our BFP this year.

    • Three rounds of clomid (50mg days 3-7) were useless.
    • IUI#1 w/clomid & HCG in May 2013, BFN.
    • IUI#2 w/clomid & HCG on July 23rd. BFN.
    • IUI #3 in August cancelled last minute, due to lab error.
    • IVF#1 - Started Gonal F stims October 13 2013 for IUI. Over-responded with too many follicles, so converted to IVF. Retrieval October 29th - got 5 eggs, 4 fertilized. Had 2 perfect little embryos transferred on day 3 (Nov. 1). The remaining 2 didn't survive to freeze. Got our BFN on November 13th 2013.
    • IVF#2 - Started stims August 21st. Triggered with Suprefact, started on dostinex due to risk of OHSS. Retrieval September 5th - got 27 eggs! 21 embryos on day 3. Embryos deteriorated quickly. ESet 5day blast on Sept 10. No embryos high enough quality to freeze. BFN came Sept. 22.

Reserved a semi-known proven donor in August .

Waiting for consult/screening and protocols with estimated fresh cycle timing in October

  • I'm in the 2ww of my EIGHTH femara cycle.  Yep you read that correctly, number 8. I was pretty disappointed when my RE agreed with DH that we could do 3 more femara cycles. He thought the polyp I had removed over the summer was impacting my fertility since we got a bfp so soon after it was removed.  He suggested either femara or injects and said we could do IUI or TI.  We're OOP and DH is cheap so he wants to do three more femara + TI cycles.  I feel like that is a total waste of time since we are almost 2.5 years into this and I have really been feeling my clock ticking lately.  Oh well.

QOTW: I hope to get pregnant with a sticky baby in 2013.  My resolution was to not make any plans or set big goals this year.  The last two years in a row I had major plans and goals that were ruined by bfps and then losses.  So I resolved to do the opposite of what everyone always says.  I am putting my life on hold until we have a damn baby.

BTW today is my 2 year bumpiversary, which is a little depressing.

IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.

  • Update: Still on a treatment break. I have managed to ovulate the past two cycles on my own with just the help of metformin. I'm in the 2WW right now. It is possible for me to be pregnant but not probable.

What I learned this past year? That DH is wonderful. I have more strength and patience than I realized. My favorite memory is the vacation we took Asheville. I hope this year is my year for weight loss and having a baby.

  • I would like to be added! My name is Heather. DH and I started TTC in November 2011. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the beginning of 2011, and I also recently found out I have a unicornuate uterus and low progesterone.  So far we have done two rounds of clomid. The first round was 50mg = BFN. We are currently in the second cycle of clomid which was upped to 100mg.

QOTW: I think the most important thing I learned in 2012 was that I need to have more patience. I am absolutely not good at being patient. Best memory is hard, but I think it would have to be finding out I got a new job at an elementary school. I taught 6th grade math for four years, so I was really excited to switch to a new (amazing) school as 4th grade teacher. In 2013 I hope to learn to look at the positive in my life as much as possible.
