My first beta was 471. I'll be finding out if it's twins tomorrow....my nurse seems pretty convinced it is. Of course, one could have already vanished since my beta or the last time I Talked to her. I'll let you know

BFP on HPT 6dp5dt
Beta #1 10dp5dt-471
Beta #2 13dp5dt - 1250
Progesterone will have no bearing on a multiple pregnancy and HCG not much either.
I experienced a vanishing twin pregnancy, bu my betas are in my siggy.
A friend of mine is having twins and her betas were lower than mine at 25 and 90.
Very high or fast doubling betas CAN be an indication of a multiple pregnancy. Also molar pregnancy.
It also could just mean you have 1 healthy baby in there.
It can also be an indication of Down syndrome. It's really best not to put too much stock in beta numbers, except that they are doubling as they should.

Jesus H Christ, is everyone that works at your RE's office a complete dipshit?
I'll answer for you- Yes. Yes they are.
No, they aren't at all. They're actually one of the best. That's not the only reason at all they think it's twins, but since she asked about HCG, that's all I brought up. Cool your ***, girlfriend.

What else makes them think twins? Best or not, the nurse has no business saying that.

Had my first ultrasound - IT'S TWINS! I'm 6w5d, and baby A and B both had strong heartbeats.
Yea....my RE's office is just full of idiots.

I am WELL aware of everything all of you are telling me. That's why I didn't ask for that information We have been seeing a fertility specialist and had to jump through quite a few hoops to get pregnant (as I'm sure many of you do). There is a very high likelihood of twins, and I was wondering what everyone else's (with twins) blood draws were.
Thank you for those of you that answered my question! I appreciate it!

Where did you get this information about high betas and DS?

Mine in Siggy. But I also did IF drugs so there was a possibility.
When pregnant with my son my numbers were higher then the beta draws for these twins and he was all alone in there.
My Betas were 689.9 at 14DPO/IUI and 1319.3 at 16DPO/IUI. I originally had three heartbeats and lost one.
My RE's office actually said that multiples was likely the reason I had such high betas. I know that is a controversial opinion around here though.
