Of all you 3rd tri ladies!! LOL. With DS 1, my EDD was July 29th.. being THAT pregnant in the middle of a heat wave was just terrible.. my end of the road bump pictures were a hot mess LOL! Literally! I remember joking with DH saying next time I'm planning a January/February due date so I can be fully pregnant in the dead of Winter and not be sweating ALL the time
LO #2 is due July 30.. July again! LOL! Sigh, bring on the heat!!
So, I'm slightly jealous when I see all you ladies in your 3rd tri looking all fashionable!!

Embrace that for as long as you can!! LOL.. some people aren't bothered by the heat.. I dislike summer even when I'm NOT pregnant.. last year I swelled SO bad.. I bought a bunch of cute summery dresses, but everything just stuck to me because I was constantly sweaty LOL.. I did enjoy soaking in the pool, but I work full time so my ability to do that was few and far between!! DH and I slept in separate beds for the entire 3rd trimester because I was just SO hot I couldn't stand to have someone that close to me!! I slept with 2 fans and a ceiling fan blowing on me, and kept my air on 73!! We had some pretty nasty thunderstorms last summer, too, and lost power a few times.. oi that was HORRIBLE.. I remember crying to DH because I was SO hot!! LOL..
As for the slipping on ice.. I don't really have to worry about that as much.. in NJ, we don't get a ton of snow.. just a bit here and there.. I'm not sure my "fear" of slipping and falling on ice would be any different in 3rd tri as it is in 1st tri.. you never want to trip, so I'm always looking to avoid it!
Buttttttt.. the plus side to it all is that hopefully my maternity leave and DH's paternity leave will be the same as it was this year.. which, essentially, allowed one of us to stay home with LO until almost 6 months.. January 2nd is the first day where both DH and I go back to work.. prior to that, one of us has been home with DS on leave! Pros/Cons
Welcome to the world Little Girl! Born on her due date! September 8, 2013, 7lb 11.8oz, 19.5" long.
I often referred to myself as a beached whale!! LOL. The worst part.. I LOVE the beach.. I hated every second of being on the beach last year!! Hopefully this year we don't have the 3 week heat wave again because I really want to be able to take DS on the beach for the first time!!
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
All of this! Except I'm due middle of July. I live not too far from Lake Michigan. You can bet that's where you'll find me this summer!

I would think this is a perk, but actually it wasn't for me since I have to wear closed toe shoes for work.. I work as a scientist, so perhaps that's part of why summer was so difficult.. every day I was wearing my regular clothes, lab coat, gloves, etc.. made me even hotter! Last year I ended up wearing flip flops to work and buying a pair of shoes that were lab appropriate and switched them whenever I was heading in the lab.. got in trouble a few times, but I could barely fit my balloon feet into anything!! LOL.
I agree with everyone who says there are pluses and minuses in different seasons. DD1 was a march baby and DD2 is due in January. While I'm glad I'm not sweating through my pregnancy, I hate having a baby in the middle of flu (and all kinds of other sicknesses) season. I can almost count on some family members being sick when it's time to deliver.
If I was due in the summer, I would totally go swimming all the time! Swimming and/or floating around in a tube sounds heavenly to me right now!
^^, my DS was born August 3rd and summer was miserable. I live in south Louisiana and it gets miserably hot and the humidity makes it unbearable. I'm due August 18th and while it is great to get to wear flip flops the only reason I'm excited about being due in the summer is that since I'm a teacher I won't be working when I'm 8/9 months pregnant. It would definitely have been preferable to get pregnant a month or two earlier so that I wouldn't lose as much money while on maternity leave (we only get 10 paid days leave per year) but I'll take what I can get
