One of the diapers Ive been using since day 1 is all of a sudden repelling. Its a Charlie Banana, I have 4 of these, and I use this one for a back up night time diaper when I need to do diaper laundry. Leaking has never been and issue until the past 2 times hes worn it the diaper is wet on the outside. I guess as if the PUL went bad but it looks perfectly fine. I line dry all of my diapers..if that makes a difference. What could be going on?

I have this same issue sometimes with my 4 Alvas, which are very similar to Charlie Bananas, am I right?
Where on the outside is it wet? Near the opening? Front? Leg holes?
Sometimes they say dry the dipes to re-seal the pul. Sometimes for me the back opening is cockeyed the way Em is laying and it allows seepage thru the back.
But if the insert is actually repelling, which you can find out by putting it into water when it's dry, someone will have to tell you how to strip or something. That I don't know.
Now that I think about it, its a hemp prefold and its the only hemp prefold I have so maybe its repelling. I havent had any issues with anything else.
Its leaking in the front. Not a bad leak but for the last 2 times hes worn it over night [10 hour stretch] the front has made his clothes damp and then the diaper itself is wet in the front.
They are kind of similar to Alvas...I like Alvas better though.
ETA: Ill have to test out the repelling once they are out of the wash.

I have a Peachy green that would do that, the natural fiber insert would only be wet in the front, totally dry in the back, but it would leak out the front upper leg gussets. Really irritating as it is one of my most expensive dipes.
I started using a small doubler crosswise, like the top of a T in the front of that dipe. It solved the problem. The problem with that was the insert of the dipe didn't really wrap around his waist are to the snaps part and the pee would just leak thru the closure when the front was wet, so a differently placed doubler reaally helped. Love that dipe now that I have it solved!
I think 10 hrs is a really long time to wear any diaper. Em is almost always slightly damp on his jammies in the morning if he wears a pocket all night. He's a super heavy wetter.
If he's in a fitted and woolies he doesn't leak. He's completly saturated, but it won't leak out the woolie. hth!
You said you used Alvas. What do you stuff them with? I ordered my Alvas from Super Stash and they came with 1microfiber insert. Just 1 isnt cutting it so ive been using spare inserts and prefolds.

I have a few Alvas in my stash. I have quite a wide variety, haha, bought a lot of cl but got the alvas straight from their website. I usually stuff with two mf inserts but I have extra inserts from cl buys and I also have a few cotton doublers I use to double up that I got from the local cd store. I do stuff with prefolds sometimes, usually not my Alvas or BG simply because I have so many mf inserts, but I have an Applecheeks and a AMP I love to use prefolds with cuz they seem to have a wider range of coverage.
When I use Charlie Bananas for overnight, I put a hemp doubler under the MF insert. It seems like the MF helps distribute the liquid a little more evenly so that the hemp doesn't get soaked all in one spot. Thirsties inserts fit pretty well into OS CB's. I think my Swaddlebees would also fit, but I'm not 100% certain.
Re: Help me diagnose this issue
Is the insert repelling? It doesn't feel soaked?

I love that there are no "rules" with cd'ing!
