You've got to be kidding me, I'm in the process of applying for life insurance and found a good, cheap quote with a company and they did the medical underwriting and all of that and I just got a call that my rate went up from like $11 a month to $19 a month because I have PCOS???? I mean I know $8 a month isn't a lot, but it adds up annually and over time...and it's just the principle! That's great, because I was looking for more ways to spend money due to my IF issues. IF can suck it. Vent over.

OMG that sucks. I would shop around and see if a couple of different company's can give you free quotes. When we applied for life insurance a couple years ago (right before starting TTC since we of course thought we'd immediately have a kid to take care of. Naive!) we were SO sure that we'd get a high quote for DH because DH is obese. But because his blood work was perfect he got the "normal" rate. Some companies are more strict than others about different things and this one was cool with him being overweight as long as he didn't have a diagnosed health problem. Alot of women have PCOS so I bet there might be a better quote with a different company...?
Sorry! I hope something works out, but if not then that $8 is still worth it. Life insurance is important IMO.

Major suckage.
I'm assuming, though, that it's not necessarily infertility related and more in relation to the chronic pre-diabetes/diabetic complications for many (if not most) people w/ PCOS. It still sucks.

It's not just because of the diabetes/pre-diabetes thing. PCOSers are also at an increased risk of heart disease, obesity, endometrial/uterine cancer (if pcos is left untreated), high BP, etc. Most of the health risks that are associated with PCOS are related to untreated/unmanaged PCOS. I'm still sorry to hear that your rate nearly doubled.
Dx PCOS (June 2006, re-confirmed March 2012), Anemia (May 2010-Still fighting to correct it), Fibromyalgia (May 2011)
Initial b/w - normal
HSG (March 2012) revealed right tube open and looking great. Left tube deformed with hydrosalpinx.
Lap (April 2012) Removal of left fallopian tube. Right tube open and viable, but "rather enlarged." NO evidence of endometriosis...Uterus looks beautiful and "very capable" of carrying a pregnancy!
October 2012 - Clomid 50mg + trigger + IUI = BFN
With all factors taken into account, RE is recommending IVF. Planning on moving forward with treatment as a single woman using DS by Summer 2013.
