Trouble TTC

Ovulation & knee surgery...vent

Oooh man!  Why did I have it in my head that I would be a-ok to ovulate 3-4 days after knee surgery?!  The doctors made it sound like no big deal, "Yeah, if you want to go ahead with Clomid surgery won't affect it"...now, two days after surgery - I can hardly bend my knee without it hurting.  I am, however, not taking painkillers as of last night, so I guess there is a little progress.  Also, I was able to take a shower today - which is a big step!

My TTTC mind won't shut off though.  I'm supposed to O on Sunday - so all I can think about is how important it is to BD today - I don't want to waste this cycle of Clomid.

I'm not even sure what I'm going on about...just frustrated I suppose!

Me: 30, DH: 40

Lol I had that exact conversation with him earlier.  I got a raised eyebrow - and a "that's romantic" - but he understands...thankfully!

  • ::peeks out of lurking...hope you all don't mind too much, sorry::

What kind of knee surgery did you have?  I had ACL repair/partial meniscectomy in Oct.  I was on lots of pain killers and could not fathom having sex for about 2 weeks after surgery!  When we did finally go at it again, I actually wore my knee brace for the first week or so.  It's odd, but if your DH can overlook it, then it's really not too bad.

(I agree w/ PPs though, you have to make him do most of the work - lol)

    GL with recovery and timing!

  • My hubby had testicular surgery through the abdomen on 05Jan12 and I was due to ovulate less than 2 weeks later. We did some no frills, get the job done sessions that week.  If he could do it through abdominal stitches you should be fine with a tender knee!  You don't need that part anyway! Good luck!

  • I'm sorry. That sucks, and I hope your knee heals quickly. I understand wanting to BD through the pain. This past summer I had a couple kidney stones that were so painful I was on high dose of pain meds and still in excruciating pain. I told DH to just "go ahead" and it was the most unromantic moment of my life. LOL. I won't do that again.
TTC from May 2011 to Jan 2013. Due 9/11/13
  • Thank you for your stories ladies!! It's really helped to make me laugh - and not feel so bad about my situation.  I guess I was having a bit of a pity party!!  Feeling much better about it all and just can't imagine wasting the cycle!!

But seriously, thank you for the laughs & good outlooks! I needed it!
