High-Risk Pregnancy

29 weeks, GD and contracting since Friday PM

Today I saw the High Risk Doc for the first time d/t being newly diagnosed with GD and been in and out of l&d 2x this weekend. We had a growth scan, Doc says DD is looking perfectly happy and healthy and growing right on schedule. She is measuring about a week and a half ahead. They can't find a reason for the contractions (that slowed but did not stop with 48 hrs bedrest/motrin). The only thing they CAN find is an elevated white cell count but no sign of an infection anywhere. My cervix is "long" with no signs of shortening. FFN was negative. The Doc today told me he practically expects me to go into PTL any week now and hopes I get to the hosp in time for steroids/ neuromag. Basically scared the living daylights out of me (I'm a FTM) and sent me home with orders to go back to work but on "lightduty". I work in healthcare and am on my feet 10-12 hours with infrequent bathroom/rest breaks. Anyone else have multiple risk factors and make it full term????? I'm so scared! And he gave me no hope for a full term baby except watch your sugar and drink lots of water and hope for the best.

  • I pray you make it to full term. Good luck and take care.

  • sending good thoughts your way. I had contractions for a couple of days, and they suggested wearing a support belt... it did help.
