We have never had a problem with DD and separation anxiety - until now!
She will be 3 next month and for the last 2 weeks she completely freaks out when we leave her somewhere and I don't know what is going on with her!
She's been going to pre-school 3 days a week for over a year and the last 4 times I've left she has gone into hysterics as soon as I leave the building. And this weekend DH and I had plans to go to Atlantic City with some of our friends for a night out and when we left DD at my mom's house (she usually LOVES staying over there) she screamed and begged us not to leave her (we did end up leaving.... 45 mins late though!).
I don't know if this is just a phase or what. We talk to her about it and all she says is that she wants to be with us -- which isn't always an option.
My mom thinks that she is doing this because we are getting closer to having the baby but I don't think DD really grasps that concept yet.
Has anyone else had a toddler suddenly act like this? Did it end quickly?
Thanks!
