Hello Rachel! I hope you are doing well. I actually had a really good Christmas despite the feeling of dread leading up to it! DH and I soaked up the time we had with our niece (18 mos). We love spending time with her (family lives 4 hrs away) and at the same time it makes us ache for a child of our own. Thankfully I only saw 1 PG announcement over the holidays and, even though it was a particularly hard one to digest (an ex, whose wife hates me), I am trying to keep reminding myself that it has no bearing on my situation.

Hi Double - I am so glad you had a really good Christmas! Sorry about the PG announcement and while DH always tells me the same thing that it has no bearing - it still sucks.

Yes, it still sucks. I know it sounds bad for me to say it, but she is jealous. It was a bad breakup...he was thinking marriage and I was thinking of the best way to end the relationship. She was the rebound and she knew he wasn't over our relationship yet. I'm glad that they are finally happy but she still has issues with me.

Glad you had a good xmas.  It was always bitter sweet hanging out with my niece around the holidays too ((hugs)).

Gregermis - Good luck with the A/S!

We had a good Christmas Eve and Christmas here too. I spent practically two days on my feet cooking and prepping meals but it was all worth it. It went as well as I had hoped it would, even without my mom there.

On the cycle front, I started BCPs last week and have an SHG/Mock transfer tomorrow. I hope they don't find any polyps! 

I decided to get back onto facebook and our Embryo Donor added me to her friends list. She has a bunch of photos of her son and he's just beautiful. It tickled me to be able to see more photos of him. She told me that I can be completely open about her and our situation - using her real name, photos, whatever I like when I share our story. It felt really good to hear that because I lean toward wanting to be completely open about the situation too and I was glad to hear we are on the same page. She said she is proud of her journey and where it's taken her, and as much as it's sucked getting to this point, I feel the same way.

Huge hugs to anyone that needs it, I hope that everyone is staying warm and has a good new year!

Hello lovelies and Merry Christmas / happy Holiday/ all that jazz.

 Its been a rough Christmas after our failed DE IVF. We had no christmas, no presents, no tree, no HOME because of the International move. We are staying in a friend's apartment who is out of town.

My husband left this morning to fly to the USA for good. The wonder pup and I are here in Switzerland alone until mid January while I finish up my gig. Its a tough time to be alone, but thats the way it is. 

MH and a have definitely decided to stop IF treatments and turn our hearts toward adoption. We feel good about the decision. Its a lot to think about at Christmas.

FX for no polyps! I'm glad you and V are on the same page...it'll make things so much easier! The more you share about her the more impressed I am. She sounds like an amazing woman!

You have been on my mind and in my prayers, Glueck. My heart hurts for you and your husband immensely. I wish I could reach through this computer screen and give you the biggest hug ever. I am so sorry that you have to be alone for the next while as I am sure that makes things even harder on you both. I am glad to hear that you and your husband are comfortable with the decision to move toward adoption and I hope that you find are able to find peace as you move down your new path to a take-home baby.

Oh Sweetie - I am so sorry you are alone at a time when you and DH should be together the most. I am glad you have the wonder pup to love you and keep you company (I know when I am sad, mine always help). My thoughts, love and prayers are always with you.

A very belated congratulations to you and T and P that this pregnancy will result in your take home baby.

After a very difficult start from her premature birth at 31 weeks,reflux and weight concerns Lila is now doing much, much better.  Since the pediatrician and Pedi GI are satisfied with her weight gain, I am more relaxed about it.

I really enjoyed the 8-night ritual of lighting the menorahs and reciting the blessings. I am usually very careful about food, but what's Hanukkah without latkes?  

My vent is with my father, who is still very negative about my conversion to Judaism and thinks I am depriving my daughter by not celebrating Christmas.

I don't celebrate Xmas but had a great day off from work after 7 straight days. I have not gotten AF yet and am having a minor freak fest because I have super huge boobs and they are sore, I also have been feeling quesy and tired which worries me greatly since DH and I were being super careful. I take my next dose of Humira on New Years Day. And then the next week we test to see if our trips to Mexico have worked.

Sorry about your father - Religion is tough especially when family is concerned. I can tell you in my family there are many disagreements. My brother is very religious and follows Judaism to the letter while my sister is all for Christmas. While I follow the Jewish religion, I can accept people wanting to celebrate other things. I hope it gets better for you and sweet Lila.

Sorry to hear that your IF journey has come to and end but I understand the need to move on and I hope adoption brings you the joy and love and the very special child, who is absolutely meant for you.

Bwah I'm late to the game. Thanks for posting this, PA - lovely thought to hang out all of us at once, except for those (ahem) who forget and then try to catch up later ::cough "me" cough cough::

I'm doing good. Cried a bit at the Christmas service. Oh Come All Ye Faithful was our opening song and "oh come let us adore him" broke me down. Christmas is sad, inherently to me anyways for some reason and always has been.

Mister D and I had a very very nice Christmas together and we had a good one with my family.

We're leaving on the 2nd for our 1st trip to Denver this year (hopefully 1 of 3, if we're lucky!) and I'm feeling fine, not too nervous about all our tests next Friday. I hope it all goes well. Not super looking forward to all the bloodwork or the HSG, but it will be my 3rd, so at least I know what to expect.

On a fun note, a week before Christmas, I had my blond hair dip dyed bright pink from about my ears down to the ends. I'm really happy with it. It is very cool looking, ombre faded in a good way, and I've gotten a lot of complements on it from co-workers, friends and strangers. It should be all washed out in a couple more weeks but the color is hanging in pretty good.

Thought of many of you and hoped good wishes and for feelings of renewed brightness in your lives. Big hugs and such to all.

Speaking of Christmas being sad... I receive the Sarah's Laughter's emails and one of the Christmas ones brought up a point I'd never thought of. It's about how God understands our pain of wanting/losing a child because at Christmas He gave us His baby. (I can't do the email justice, so if anyone wants a copy I'll PM it to you. lol)
