Question for all those taking DHEA

Due to my poor response to IVF attempt 1 and low AMH I asked my RE about DHEA and he suggested a particular brand that I have been taking 2x/day ( thought the bottle recommends 3x). I started this about a month ago. According to my OPK I O'd really early for me around day 10 or 11. I am now 4 days late for AF and though I haven't taken another test recently, an hpt at 16dpo was negative so I figured I was out. Now I am super confused! Did anyone else have either false positive OPKs or longer cycles on DHEA? Stupid IF is toying with my mind especially on Christmas!

Me:30 low AMH; DH:30 MFI (count, motility, morphology)
2 rounds clomid 100 mg -BFN
IUI#1- 25 mg clomid- July 2012= BFN!
IUI #2 August = BFN!
IUI #3 September = BFN!

IVF #1 November - converted to IUI #4 due to poor response = BFN
IVF #1.2 February- converted to IUI #5 due to poor response = BFN
IVF #1.3 April- micro dose Lupron flare with HGH; 14R, 13M, 11F! Transfer of 1 day 5 blast on 4/30, 4 frosties. BFP! Beta #1 9dp5dt= 179; Beta #2 11dp5dt= 442; Beta #3 4106 Stick baby stick!!

    I'm not sure because I only took it while stimming. Sorry and good luck.

    I only took it w ivf. I took 25mg 3x a day had a 32 day cycle. Granted i was also on estrogen patches crinone until day 30. I was ready for my er cd 14. I know the situations arw different but maybe that helps.

    Me:29 DH:29  TTC since 1/11 Dx: unexplained IF/early DOR/immune issues 
    Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
    8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 
    ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
    IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
    ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN
    3/13 hysteroscopy & polypectomy, Consulted w Dr. Kwak-Kim.  
    DX: High NK cells, cytokines, DHEAs& PAI1;  hypothyroid, +APA, restricted bloodflow
    7/13 IVF#3 Long lupron protocol with PIO, Crinone, Prometrium, and vivelle
    (plus synthroid, metformin, baby asa, metanx, PNV, Vit E, D, calcium, fish oil, CoQ10, IVIg infusions and lovenox per Dr. Kwak-kim)
    ER 7/19 14R, 11M, 9F(4 natural fert, 5 with ICSI)
    ET 5dt 7/24 2 fully expanded blasts.  SURPRISE 3 FROSTIES!!!
    Beta #1 8/2 335!!!! Beta #2 829!!!  1st u/s 8/14 showed TWINS!!!!!
    11/11: TEAM PURPLE!!!!!

    Ticker warning

     

    i was on DHEA in between attempts at IVF. My RE's plan was to have me on it 3-4 months before a 2nd attempt. I was not keeping track of ovulation dates ever and on my 2nd month on DHEA I got a surprise bfp. I had had my one weirdo 10d early period after IVF 1 Stims only (no ER) and then my next AF was relatively on time I think and then I thought I was late for my third period and that the hormones still had me all switched around but I was PG. Based on when we exercised I must've ovulated around mid cycle for that to work. 

    Not sure that answers your question but hopefully it helps. I was on three times a day dosing.

    My period came 3-5 days early the first month on DHEA. It also gave me oily skin.
    Me 33. DH 32. TTC Since 6/2011. 12/2012-m/c, CP. DH: MFI. CCT/HSG/day 3 blood work-all nl. IVF#1 ER- 8/7/12, ET- 8/10. beta 8/25 neg, I did not respond as expected. AMH: 0.88. IVF#2 BCP-10/19. Micro flare Lupron-Nov: It's a bust. IVF#3 Planned for Feb '13 with a long lupron protocol ON OUR OWN!!! BFP- 1/12/13. Yay! EDD 9/18, now EDD 9/25

    Your post is interesting! I'm in the same boat! I just had a failed IVF Cycle. I was put on DHEA. I was told two weeks into taking it that i needed to stop because my levels were in the 700s, 300s are normal.

     

    My period is 4 days late this cycle, and the pregnancy tests say negative.

    Thanks for letting me know i'm not the only one!
