I had my check up yesterday and after listening to the heartbeat and discussing how low the baby is the doctor told me he thinks it's a boy. Now that's all I can think about. I don't know why he did that, he knew we didn't want to know until the baby is here. We're still going with the "we don't know" because technically without an ultrasound we don't know that it's a boy and that's not even 100% accurate all the time. I just can't help but think it's a boy now.

I think heartbeat and position are still just old wives tales. My nurse also guesses its a boy based on those same 2 things, and my OB said that no one in the office knows (it never gets written down by the U/S tech), they just like to guess what the few Team Green mamas will have for fun.
Yeah, I agree w/ this. My OB (the one I actually liked) told me the heartbeat thing was a myth. I'm also carrying pretty low and we're having a girl (everyone told me it HAD TO BE a boy b/c she's so low). So...you still never know! Sorry he said something, though. I'd be obsessing over it, too.
I'll agree with what everyone else said. We were team green last time (and this time, too) - I actually SAW my u/s report and there was no mention of sex.
The last time I had a HB check, I jokingly said "so that means it's a girl, right?" My OB just looked at me like I was growing two heads. She still hasn't gotten my sense of humor. *shrug*
I think the doctors and nurses like to guess and be surprised just like the rest of us!
This. All the way. I carried really high with both boys and their heartbeats were in the 160's consistently.
This is the same with me, I'm carrying low and I'm having a girl. It's been reconfirmed twice, and clear as day. So I don't believe in all that crap what-so-ever, don't get yourself worked up over it. There was no ultrasound done, so there is no way to know for sure.
That was pretty rude of them to tell you, even though you requested not to find out.
