Hi everyone,
I am a newbie to thebump and wanted to join in. I am TTC for baby #2... I have a six-year old daughter named Aislin. A couple years after Aislin was born, I began having constant pain. I had always had terrible periods and cramps that would just knock me to the floor, but now they were unbearable. Anyway, it took several years to get a diagnosis of endometriosis. I had surgery and lost an ovary in the process. The doctor said the endo was Stage 4 and just everywhere. I went through 6 months of Lupron shots (if any of you have had them, you know how awful they are) to put me in a "menopause" state. Then I was prescribed two different birth control pills to help with the pain and to try and prevent the endo from getting worse.
Last year my husband and I saw a fertility doctor who said our chances of conceiving another baby on our own were 4%. I was shocked. I knew that with one ovary my chances would be kinda slim, but I did not expect as low as 4%.
My regular OB/GYN believes my chances are better than that, since he does not feel a lot of scarring. He's also seen many women with endo (or with one ovary) successfully conceive.
So here we are, TTC for #2 - off both birth control pills. I've got 2 fertility charts, and for some reason they are giving me different dates. One (Fertility Friend) says AF is due on the 21st, and one (LadyTimer) says it's due on the 25th. So we'll see! My temp has spiked, and stayed up for the past few days, but it's been kinda erratic.
Any women out there with similar stories?
Thanks for listening!!

Re: TTC with Endometriosis and One Ovary
I'm sorry. I did not realize I had to "warn" other TTC Moms that I had a daughter. Nowhere on this site does it ask newbies to post such a warning. I mistakenly thought this was a support site. Where you could come for support. And my first - and only - reply is telling me what not to do.
Thanks anyway I will try another site.
