Lip balm/ Chap-stick?

DD has chapped lips.  Is there any reason not to put lip balm on her?  Any brand/ type suggestions?

I think I have read/heard that you shouldn't use Chap-Stick until they are 2.  But, I used Vaseline for DD's chapped lips.  I'm not sure of the difference between the 2.  Good luck!

The reason is b/c they will squeeze it or eat it & want to own it & make a mess.  Other than that, no reason I've ever heard.  Boudreaux's Butt Paste just came out with some sold at Babies R Us, but it's basically just petroleum jelly.  I use either an all natural one, or I just put Vit E ointment on his finger tip b/c he wants to do it himself.  Once they're older they're going to want to own that thing. I only break it out when I need too.

I just use vaseline/eucerin/rose balm, whatever I'm using he'll get a dab if he looks dry

Yeah this. DD says "pees" every time I put my lip gloss or chapstick on. She gets a dab and puckers are lips. How can I say no to that?

I use regular Vaseline from the tub

I would use my burts bees on LO if her lips were chapped. 

All this comments of "they will eat them" remind me of when my nephew was probably 2 or 3 years old, he would always find peoples chapsticks and take them behind a chair and eat the entire tube. It was so funny. I was just thinking about this a couple days ago now that his 18th birthday is coming up, I wanted to post the story on his FB page LOL.
