Hello all!
I am 32wks 3days pregnant with fraternal twins. I have been having regular contractions since the saturday after Thanksgiving. My cervical length has been hovering around 43mm (4.3cm) so no one was concerned, but this past week I had A LOT of contractions and I was down to 33mm one minute and the next measurement read that I was down to 28mm. Apparently 25mm is when they begin to worry. However, my fetal fibro nectin test was negative so they figure I wasnt in pre-term labor.
Since this past saturday I have been having a lot of pain in my lower uterus, and it often also travels all over my belly. I also was feeling an urge to bear down during my contractions....Of course my back is always hurting and I have been having headaches...
so blah blah blah...my question is, does this sound like preterm labor? I am now having weekly visits with my perinatologist and my OB. And no one has mentioned the steroid shots for lung development. should i be on those?
Thanks for reading this whole thing! lol!
Re: possible pre-term labor with twins?

Update:
I saw the nurse practitioner today at my OB's office and she manually checked my cervix. She said my cervix was not dilated but that it felt "thin." Tomorrow I see the perinatologist and they actually measure my cervix.
I hadnt called their office yet because I was already scheduled for an appointment today. She didnt seem very concerned and just told me to continue bed rest
I was going to suggest bed rest but then saw you mentioned you're already on it. I thought I lost my mucous plug at 21 weeks and went to the hospital to find I was having mild contractions (I had no idea). After going to my dr the next day my cervix was down to 1.something and I was put on immediate bed rest and emergency cerclage. Stay in bed with your feet up, drink lots of water and rest. Take it very seriously. I made it to 33 weeks but the longer the better for those babes. Good luck!
