Tonite after his video call with DD, H called me back and went into his usual crap about how he doesn't understand why I'm divorcing him.
I let him talk for about a minute, and just said, "okay." and "alright" to what he was saying. He tells me, "You know, if there is someone else, just tell me and I'll walk away..."
OMFG.
I said, "Look. This is the last time I'm going to listen to you accuse me of something I am not doing, and never did it you. It's INSULTING after all I did for you." He tried talking over me and I just kept talking. "I'm sorry, But I'm not going to have this conversation with you again. Whenever you bring this crap up again, I'm hanging up on you. I won't let you continue to accuse me of things you KNOW I don't do. So stop already."
He went on, and I hung up.
From now on, I am not entertaining his lectures, rants, and accusations.
I'm not doing it.
Never.
Again.
Re: Stood my ground.
tif - with DD being just shy of 3, that's hard to do. I'm on the phone with DD. I put her on immediately but I can't just turn the phone over to her. ANd sometimes she's more interested in the tv, her doll, or her legos more than talking to daddy. When they are done, I then talk to him and it sometimes turns into this bemoaning of "I don't understand." When she's older and can carry an easier conversation, I won't talk to him as much I'm sure.
Half the time we can have a conversation without it getting too difficult. I've told him, I'm hanging up from now on if it does there. And I will.
He's also not computer literate. Email is not much of an option with him.
I think he's starting to going thru his anger stage. Or is denial maybe?
I don't know. It's annoying none the less and I'm not going to go thru it with him.
You are doing the right thing. Let him know that you will only talk to him about DD or finances - nothing else. Your marriage is over, you will not be discussing it.
He brings this up because it engages you. Good job for hanging up.
true, but you don't need 'permission'. Nevada is a 2 party state. Meaning, you just have to inform the person that you are recording. Anything they say after that is basically them giving 'permission'. They can choose to not say anything and that's perfectly fine.As long as you inform them though, that's all you need to do.
