New carpet?
I've seen many commercials for those next-day-installation places, as well as Home Depot/Lowe's - are those deals just for suckers? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but I also want good quality carpet. What's the most cost-effective route?
Re: Where would you go to get...
That's the thing, Home Depot seems like a good price but I heard they contract out and that makes me a little nervous.
ETA: That being said - we had work on our house a few years back and our renovators said that price-wise they can't keep up with the big box stores so rather than installing carpet at cost they often recommend that customers go to a place like Home Depot. That made me kind of sad because I like supporting local businesses. But it's not like we're made of money.
However, if we're going to get a shitty installation because the job went to the lowest bidder then we might as well pay the extra. That's m thought process at least.
ssaihatd, I buy my carpet at a discount place and get a remnant. My bro says you shouldspend the money to get good padding and the carpet will last longer, even if is cheaper carpet.
Me either.
I'm glad we've still got a long way to go because if this was the final stretch I'd be screwed - work has been so busy and it's not going to let up until next Wednesday or Thursday. But don't worry, I'll be back in full force once this project is over with. That's a promise.
Regarding the shared obsession, I think you just have to find a relatively attractive, barely legal brit.
