Evenflo symphony vs Britax Marathon

Just wanted to see if anyone had any insight on these carseats. We are trying to decide between the two. What do you like and more importantly NOT like about either of these? Input would be helpful!

Re: Evenflo symphony vs Britax Marathon

  • We have the Marathon and honestly there isn't anything I don't like about it.  It was really easy to install in our car (Nissan Pathfinder) and the straps are very easily adjustable.  I like that the weight limit is 70 pounds for forward facing (even though DS will probably outgrow it in length before that time).  I ordered it from Albee Baby when they had a 25% off sale and got free shipping, so that made me happy with it too :)  We'll definitely be getting one for DD once she outgrows her infant seat.
  • I have heard great things about both (we have the Marathon - nothing bad to say about it).  I think one of the biggest differences is price - I believe the Symphony is less.  Although, like PP I bought our Marathon online and it was just over 200 I think.  I don't think you'd go wrong either way :)

  • We have the symphony and I like it a lot.  There isn't anything I don't like about it.  DD isn't a fan of it, she always seems uncomfortable in it but I think it's b/c she misses the comfort of the infant seat.  She does nap really well in it on the long trips though, so she can't be that uncomfortable I guess.

  • We have the Britax Advocate (which I think is the same shell as the Marathon) and C loves it.  She is comfortable in it, and I love how easy it is to adjust the straps and get her buckled in.  Also, the straps never tangle--which is ususally one of the most irritating things with car seats!
  • Sorry I don't have either of the 2 but I did just see an article about the Marathons being recalled. Let me see if I can find that for you.

EDIT - just found the article. It's not the Marathons...so ignore this. Sorry!

I second all of this! (Except I got mine from BRU on sale and with a coupon/free shipping.)
