Decorating opinions

We are redoing our bathroom. The floor is a black and white checkered pattern and the shower is white tile with accent tile w/ a black and white checkered pattern. What color would you paint the walls? What color towels and curtains would you get?

DH wants to just paint the walls white. I'm thinking a light grey with white baseboards and trim. I'm also thinking a greyish purple would look nice.  DS wants to paint the walls red (red is his favorite color.) Red probably would actually be pretty cool, but it's too much for me in a bathroom.

A bright yellow might be nice on the walls.

my son Josh redid his bathroom....same tiles as you....they painted it a very pale purplish gray....it came out so nice. and then they got dark gray towels.

A pale butter yelllow, white trim with white towels and black accent towels.

I think red would bring you into a super retro look. Cool if you like it.
