I got left in the car as a kid. Did you? Then again, I was not only left home alone at 12, I was actually getting paid to watch other people's children.
BB, is it considered leaving your kids in the car to put them in the carseat, close the door and then walk around the car to get in yourself? Where is the line? Five feet? Ten?
I make cute babies.
Re: SO leaving your kids in the car.
Yes. One of my earliest memories is taking a $10 bill from my mom's wallet and sticking it into the air conditioner vent while she was in the grocery store. I was probably about 3.5 years old. And not only was I not in a carseat or booster, I was sitting in the front seat. It's a miracle I lived past childhood.
I think it's considered an issue for the parents that leave their kids completely unattended alone in a vehicle while they shop. It's actually illegal in a lot of areas, and it should be. I was not left in the car as a child. Times have changed. Sh!t got real. We know more now...we should take advantage of that and use that knowledge to keep our kids safe.
Oh yeah. I got to choose whether or not to accompany the parent shopping.
But it was the 70s. Different times.
