Light period after D&C?

Hello everyone. I just joined here after reading posts for awhile. On October 24th, I went for my first prenatal appt. and was given an ultrasound (this was my first pregnancy). I was supposed to be 8.5 weeks but my baby was only measuring 6 weeks 1 day. I went in for a second ultrasound a few days later and the doctor confirmed that I had a missed miscarriage. My husband and I were so devastated. I had a D&C on October 30th and was spotting on and off for about 2 weeks. It has now been a little over 4 weeks since the D&C and yesterday I assumed my period was starting as I was having spotting. Before I was pregnant, I had periods every 28-29 days. The spotting has continued today. Has anyone ever experienced a very light period after your D&C?

Thank you for the reply! My husband and I are so anxious to start trying again. My doctor said we could try after I get my first period and I have just been worried that it is so light. I guess the hormones are trying to get back on track.

not sure how I wound up on this board.. but I wanted to answer your question after I saw your title.

I had a D&C when I was 19 by choice. I had light bleeding right away and then brown spotting for a good 1-2 months. this was almost 10 yrs ago so I don't remember how soon my period came afterwards, but I do remember them telling me it was all normal.
