So I'm throwing together a little GTG for a young moms club I run. I'm limiting it to 5 RSVPs. There aren't many "active" members so that's a reasonable number. Its going to be at my house, which is pretty tiny. What should I have planned/serve/whatever? Obviously I haven't thought this through. Kids of the moms in the group are usually between infant-3 years.
TIA
Re: Help me plan
Define "young mom". At what point is a young mom considered an old mom?
Cucumber cream cheese sandwiches. You can put creme cheese on bread, and put 4 cucumber slices in the middle, then cut them into 4
Cookies, because EVERYONE loves cookies!
Whatever you have to drink: Make sure it has a lid. Nothing worse than trying to interact with people when you're trying to drink a glass of something, and there are toddlers wandering trying to get said glasses. Lids are wonderful
Gerber Puffs in a dish for the babies!
They kick you out when you are legal drinking age.
I actually have no clue Now I wonder if I am an old mom.
I do the touchy-feely "if you feel like a young mom, you're welcome to join" Its up to your discretion. And dads are welcome, too.
But, like, over 25 is totally old. Gross.
Good suggestion. Easy.
I'll be having my quarter life crisis in May. ::sniffle sob::
I'll be old come March!
I am hosting a cookie exchange in mid-December for my mom's group at 3 pm on a Saturday. I've never done it before but I like the idea because I don't have to provide anything to eat but my cookie contribution and drinks.
I'll be serving coffee, tea, and hot chocolate with a toppings bar (marshmallows, whipped cream, peppermint, etc). For the kids (1 and 2 year olds), I've got some Annie's party mix, applesauce pouches, cheese, and milk.
We plan on doing a baby secret santa and I've got an ornament craft planned. Other than that, the kids usually amuse themselves while the moms talk.
Also, now I want a cucumber sammich. Wench!!
I was going to suggest hot dog soup...
