What's your LO's favorite non-toy?

It seems like our LOs love things that aren't really meant to be toys! My DD is obsessed with a bin of bows/ribbons/wrapping supplies. Her second favorite is the box of tampons under the bathroom sink (LOL). What's your LO's favorite non-toy?

  • The kitchen bar stools. She pushes them around, stacks stuff on top and climbs under them. Other than that the draw on our nightstand (open/close/repeat) she could stand there for hours.

  • tupperware. I have "sacrificed" several old ones and lids to a drawer for her use. I don't think i'll be putting my soup in there after she had her cute little tootsies all over it Surprise

  • Kleenex, paper towels.  She likes to "clean" things with them. She also loves the tampons and liners under the bathroom sink.

  • Paper towel rolls, boxes, and blankets. She stacks the paper towels and rolls them on the floor they are individually wrapped in plastic the boxes for climbing, sitting inside and hiding and the blankets for peekaboo and she puts them on her back like a cape and runs around.
  • Shopvac... LOL... We just finished laying tile down in our basement and DH was shopvacing the area of dust... After DH was finished DS started holding the hose and going vroom vroom and pretending to vacuum... It was super cute and we couldn't take it from him...

  • He loves the remote control and the broom.  I've tried buying a toy broom and a toy remote and wants nothing to do with those.  Only the real thing will do.
  • Anything in the dishwasher.. and the dishwasher itself. My brush, straightener, blow dryer, his toothbrush, the scale. Oh and the microwave.. he loves to push buttons!

  • Light switches...she climbs on any chair she can and turns them on and off.

  • I am allowing LO to cook with me, DW sometimes gets freaked out if he reaches for one of the pans or gets too close to one of my knives (I can do surgery with how sharp I keep my knives) but so far no accidents and he understands what hot is without getting burnt.

Made the mistake of allowing him to help me with dishes so now he wants to play with everything on the counters and will push his cooking chair to the sink area.

  • definitely the TV remote.
  • DD is ALWAYS into the spices.  She learned how to open them this week and I had garlic powder all over my garage and ground mustard all over my kitchen.  Wish she was into tampons...
