Will 12 daily help produce milk or do I need to up it? I thought I read somewhere it needed to be more.

12 is good. 3-4 pills 3 times per day.

An LC I know says, "if you smell like maple syrup, you are taking enough." haha. (but yes, she says 9-12)

I don't get the maple syrup thing, but I have heard that several times. I am trying to up my supply with fenugreek right now, and have tried once before without much success...but the only thing I smelled like was the gross way the pills smell!! Like seriously, I swear my pits smelled like it!!!!!! 

I was so grossed out that I quit taking it after about a week, but this time I am desperate to see some results.. So I'm sticking with it: stinky fenugreek pits and all!!!! 

Side note: anyone know when I will see some results if this stuff is working??
