Daycare label question.

So before I even type this I feel like it is a silly question...but how are you labeling things for daycare? Sippies especially? Jyles has been at an in-home sitter and I haven't worried about labels, but next week he starts at a daycare and they require everything to be labeled. How do I label his sippies so it doesn't wash off?

Re: Daycare label question.

  • My center used masking tape because each cup needed first and last name, and the date. Sharpie could work for a while if you just need LO's name on it - you would have to touch it up every once in a while.

  • I had used a permanent marker but daycare just put labels on the sippy's on her jackets they just wrote on the tags in permanent marker.

  • I use Sticky Labels from Mabel's Labels on sippy cups:

They are high quality and dishwasher safe.  They've never come off for me.  We did first & last name on the labels and anything that requires a date for daycare we put on with masking tape and a sharpie each day.  So, at least we don't have to write the name on there all the time.  Mabel's Labels also has clothing labels, but we haven't tried those out yet.

ETA: I just noticed that the "Skinny-Minis" labels (the ones I actually got) are currently on a Cyber Monday deal with an awesome price:

Off to go buy some for LO #2!  :)

  • I found mine off etsy! I searched water proof sippy cup labels! And I put her first and last nme on them! They just put masking tape on it to date it! The ones I picked were cheapest and are dishwasher safe!

  • I ordered some on Etsy.  They stay on great through the dishwasher and haven't faded or anything.  My only problem with them is that Audrey likes to pick them off with her nails.  Maybe I should trim her nails already? lol

I ordered from the same place as Kimberly and I've been really happy with them (although it took a long time for them to ship).  I believe the Etsy shop is called Lollipop Labels.  They were only like $10.

I still have Mabels Labels from my almost 7 year old DD on sheets/blankets and jackets. Those things are NEVER coming off! And we can still read the name very clearly.

  • We use Name Bubbles, and we have been really impressed with them - they don't come off the clothes in the wash & they don't come off the cups/bottles in the dishwasher.
