I was recently diagnosed with Grave's disease and have been given medication.
I asked my endocrinologist about whether TTC next year would be an option, and he said, "absolutely but we can talk in more detail at your next appointment" (in Dec)
From my quick google I basically picked up that it means increased risks of various things from miscarriage and pre-e to heart failure, but that as long as you're properly monitored there's no real reason for it to be an issue.
I was just curious if anyone else is working with this, and how it's going or what your Dr thinks?
Re: Anyone TTC with Grave's disease/hyperthyroidism?
I have hypothyroid, long time..diagnosed when I was young. This is the least of my RE's concerns, he checks my thyroid levels before, during and after an IVF cycle. As long as the levels are within his acceptable limits, all is well. I've been on synthroid for many, many years. I'm pretty stable as long as i take my medication first thing in the morning, one hour before I eat..
I did try the generic levothyroxine for several months, I didn't respond as well. I appear to do best on the name brand.
It can take some time to find your stable dose, when I first started taking synthroid it was about 6 months before my daily dose was stable.
Best of luck to you
