For those of you who don't know most salons now offer shellac nail polish, which seriously doesn't chip for almost 2 weeks and is normally much shinier than regular nail polish. I love this stuff the only problem is that it is really difficult to get off. Usually you end up soaking your nails in 100% acetone nail polish remover and then using a nail tool to scrape the remaining polish off.
Well, I recently discovered Nutra Nail's no-UV gel color which is supposed to last quite a while (although not as long as shellac) and they make a No Mess Express nail polish remover packet which remoes their gel nail polish in two minutes (only problem is it is a one time use). It also apparently removes shellac in two minutes as well although you do still have to scrape it off instead of wiping as you would if you were using the gel polish. I plan to go get another shellac manicure before school starts back Monday and then, in a few weeks when it starts to chip, will remove it and try the gel nail polish to see how well it goes.
Re: PSA: (NPR) For those who use shellac nail polish or any nail polish
I'm a teacher and feel like my nails are constantly on display when I am walking around helping students move to the next step and/or pointing out their mistakes on their work.
Lol. I haven't painted my fingernails since I became pregnant with this baby, and I'm almost nine months pregnant.
