Hi I bought a flip trainer shell and 3 pads to try it out. We really like how it handles the ON we've had no leaks when using the pad and a hemp insert. Quick question though, do your shells have a urine or ammonia odor with the daily use? DS is 23 months and heavy wetter at night and his diapers do reek in the morning we are waiting for some rlr to arrive next week so I can strip the diapers but he never has the ammonia rash just stinky pee and only the ON diaper. We don't have the same odor in daytime diapers, I haven't used the trainer in the daytime yet to assess. But after we pulled the overnight inserts and rinses and hung the shell to dry it still smelled of urine the following night. We had only bought 1 shell/pads before investing because the system is going to be new to daycare and he can't smell like pee all day. Thanks! And happy thanksgiving!

We don't have any pee smell issues with the covers. I wash mine just like I do with my regular dipes and then hang dry and they have no smell dry. The inserts after a full night do have a pee smell, but I think thats normal if your kid is like mine and sleep 12+ hours. During the day we don't have any smell with the dipes or covers though. We change her every 2-3 hours. Since even though the pads are absorbent, we just don't want her in them that long. Plus we have a had few leaks if we don't change her religiously (she is going through a water phase though, so lots of fluid + diaper + needs lots of changing). However, she does not smell like pee at all during the day.

Great to know thanks! We just ordered some more so we can have enough covers and inserts for day and night use....Had to convince dh first that we needed a new strategy for ds1 since he's only in prefolds and daycare needed something different.
We are really liking the system so far but 1 shell only goes so far.

Oh, I feel ya. I am thinking of picking up 3 more covers just to kind of stretch the time between washes. Since currently we wash about every other day, sometimes every third.
