Ahhh! Freaking out type vent

I went off the Implanon two months ago because they were causing bad migraines. We have been using condoms since while I wait for my paragard to come in. I have only had one period since and it was Oct 19th so I have no idea when I am supposed to start because I'm not sure what my cycles are like yet. But I am possibly late.

Well for some reason I felt compelled to check the box of the condoms we have been using. They effing expired in June!!!!! Good grief DH!

I took a pregnancy test which came back negative, but that doesn't make me feel better. I didn't get a positive test with my first until 7 weeks!!! I can NOT be pregnant, I am about to start the nursing program. Pity party vent over./

  • Expiry just means they will start to deteriorate. If it held up you are probably safe. Better hit the store tomorrow for a fresh pack.

Definitely will. I'm just worried that there might have been little micro tears. Last time I trust DH with the birth control.

  • Well good luck. Hopefully it turns out the way you want it to. Darn DH! Lol.

  • They were probably fine if you stored them at the proper temp. They can't be good in May and not in June. There's probably a range when they stop holding up as well and if I were to guess the manufacturers were cautious and wrote an earlier date to cover their butts. I'm just guessing here, but an expired condom is a whole lot better than pulling out or a condom stored in a wallet.
