Update on not sending ds to school

So yesterday I asked if I should send my coughing random feverish child to school. I didn't and thank goodness. He was running a fever again today and coughing something awful so I called and asked what else I could give him. They had me bring him in and they think he has whooping cough/ pertussis. We will start him on antibiotics right away so hopefully he will feel better soon. They did test him and we will find out the results Friday or Monday.

I hope he gets better soon! Hopefully if he has pertussis/whooping cough y'all caught it soon enough that it won't get too bad. Even though I have very few sick days and it's more work to miss school than not I always keep DS home if he's been feverish the day before. I think I've already used up 8 sick days this school year and only have two left before I start getting docked for missing and we're not even halfway through the year. Not much I can do about it since DH works offshore but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
