My 10 month old son keeps biting me! He's teething, and definitely doesn't bite out of anger. But, he bites when he is finishing nursing, and bites just for fun other times then looks at me and laughs. I've tried yelling loudly, I've tried telling him "no" and looking at him very seriously, I've tried stopping nursing, I've tried giving him other toys to bite. NOTHING WORKS!! I'm hoping this is just a phase due to teething, but also don't want him to become a biter. Any mom advice is greatly appreciated!! I'm getting desperate....and black and blue!
Re: HELP! My 10 month old won't stop biting
Probably teething, as well as learning cause and effect. You should be able to stop it by knowing when it is coming and avoiding it?
But i wouldn't worry long term. Just keep staying no seriously (but not yelling)- eventually he will start understanding better.
whenever DS2 bites me (or DS1 when he was a baby) i firmly tell him 'no' then put him down on the floor facing away from me. He gets pretty upset but usually doesn't bite again right after that.
It worked really well with DS1 and seems to be doing the trick with DS2 also. I wouldn't worry long term. HTH! good luck
