So I have had so many problems trying to get my LO to BF that I am now exclusively pumping and mine is KILLING me right now! I have to pump every 2-3 hours to keep up with my growing baby and need something that is effective (preferably comfortable, but willing to give that up for efficiency) and not too costly (closer to $200 rather than $300 range) Any suggestions?? Thanks!
I swear by my Medela Freestyle. The Pump is Style is also great - not hands free in itself but you can buy something like the Simple Wishes bra and get the same effect.
Have you looked into your insurance, I know with "Obama care" lol, breast pumps are suppose to be covered. At least the rental of a hospital grade one which will be the most efficient.

The purchase should also be covered by your flex spending account. At least it was before the overhaul. Worth checking into, at any rate. Your employer might also have a special plan for pumps. I know my firm reimburses dollar for dollar up to a certain amount.
As for renting a hospital grade pump - worth it if you're starting out and able to pump at home in one place. If you need something portable, I'd look into buying a good strong pump.
I have the Ameda Purely Yours. It is equivelent to the Medela, just a different brand. I got that one because the hospital pumps at GBMC are all Ameda's, so I already had 2 sets of all the accessories.
I have the Medela Pump in Style and I really like it. I just kind of wedge the falanges in my bra (not even a special hands free bra) and pump away while I read or play on my phone.
I would definitely check into your insurance though first.
I had the Medela pump in style advanced and have no complaints. I bought new tubing because mine got mold in it, but that was my own fault because I wasn't letting it dry properly.
ETA I used a hands free bra from amazon and happily worked away in my office while I pumped.

Love my freesytle!!! Worth the money. I also got a bra from amazon that allowed for hands free pumping.
