Infertility

1st FET - anyone else??

This is my first round of IVF after 3 failed IUIs. Had the ER back in September, but wasn't able to do a fresh transfer. We're scheduled for the FET on Tuesday, 11/20! I'm very excited, nervous, scared, scared to death, etc.

Is anyone else going through FET this month?

Re: 1st FET - anyone else??

  • I was until I was canceled yesterday. It's a much easier process than IVF is. Best of luck to you!!

  • I will be going through it in December. Please let me know how yours goes! I am very curious as well. All I know so far is that it's definitely easier medication wise than going through another round of IVF. There are less meds and less appointments it seems. Well..the appointments are more spread out. My biggest concern is that my little frosty embies will thaw out okay. We only have two frozen so they both need to be rockstar status. Good luck!

  • I just had my first FET transfer on saturday!  The process was SO much easier than IVF. I was so much calmer and more relaxed, had virtually no side effects from the estradiol and progesterone, and only had one blood work appt and one ultrasound to check lining.  The thaw went perfectly and had no issues with transfer- we decided to transfer only one this first time.

Today is 5dp5dt, and I got a verrrrrry faint positive on an FRER test this morning.  After our chemical with the first IVF, I'm being cautious, but I'm also optimistic.  beta is not until Monday the 19th.

    Good luck with your FET!

  • Thank you all for your kind words and wishes!

I'm finding the medication MUCH easier to deal with. I had my baseline ultrasound to check lining and bloodwork. My lining looks excellent, so I'm hopeful. I'm on estrogen pills and just added the progesterone gel and Medrol today.

We have 9 frosties and are only transferring one, albeit the best one! Graded 5AA, frozen on day 6 so I'm hoping for a very sticky blast!

I'll post an update after the transfer!

Best of luck to us all!!

  • we are like twinsies!  i had my first ivf in sept (9 frosts too) and was unable to transfer due to OHSS risk.  we transferred one 6 day last thursday!  I actually hate this whole FET process.  It has been a long 6 weeks with BCP, Lupron daily for a month, then Progesterone shots + suppositories, estrogen pills and estrogen patches.  yes, less monitoring but a whole lot more stuff to do!

     Good luck to you!!!

  • Just started taking estrace yesterday! We are aiming for FET on December 11th.

  • I have mine scheduled for Sunday. This cycle we decided to do a natural FET. I had on u/s on cd3 and then a few more on Cd10,12,14 and 15. On Cd 15 my follie was 18mm and I was told to trigger that night. No meds other than the trigger shot and Crinone. Easy peazy! Good luck to you.

  • I am! I had to do a freeze-all on day one and am scheduled for transfer tomorrow! I think the FET is definitely less demanding time-wise as far as needing to go in for monitoring appts and stuff, however I also agree with one of the previous posters that there are so many more meds to keep track of (like today I have to take 6 different things at different parts of the day) so that can get a little tricky but hey, anything for baby right?? :) GL to you!

  • This was my First IVF... had teh ET on Monday, now in the waiting game.

Good Luck to you, and i will cross my fingers for you! Big Smile

  • I guess FET protocols are different!  I only take estradiol 3 times a day and crinone twice (crinone was added week before transfer).  So much better than the multiple shots a day I was doing for IVF :)
