Home Day Care costs for infants

I may start watching a newborn twice/week for about 9.5 hours each day. My daughter has never been in day care, so I have no idea what to charge. What is the going rate in the cities for an infant in a home day care? Thanks!

when I was looking about 9 months ago, I would say average was around $100-150/wk for an in-home, closer to $300/wk for a center.

I use an unlicensed provider and she charges $30 per day per child.  I also don't pay if they don't go.

I pay $35/day for 2 days per week. At my previous daycare I paid $50/day for 2 days per week. I've seen some in-homes want to charge up to $75 for part time because you're taking an infant spot. Centers can be as much as $100/day for part time.

It also depends what's provided (diapers? wipes? food etc.)

We pay $220/week for an in-home daycare in Minnetonka. My BIL and SIL pay about $150/week for an in-home in New Hope.

I called a few in home locations and they were all 150 in the Como Park/St. Paul area.

We pay $210 in Shoreview per week for an in-home, but we looked at places that were between $170-$210.  I never spoke to anyone with a spot for an infant (under 16 months) for less than $170 in St. Paul/Roseville/Shoreview.

 

Most places are cheaper if you pay for 5 full days, so you should be able to charge more per day because it is only two days a week.

 

We looked at the Kindercare in Roseville and it was about $1350 a month.

I live in greater Minnesota and every day care I checked was $2.25 - $2.50/hr.
