I just started giving milk in DS's sippy to get him used to it. He seems to LOVE it. I am not giving him a ton just wanted him to start getting used to milk in his sippy cup. I started to give him just water in it and this past week he had such a bad cold I gave him half apple juice half water throughout the day to get more fluids and help drain gunk in his throat, but got worried that might be all he wants in it. (because he was thrilled and loved it so much). Do you think there is anything wrong with this? I have already started dairy in yogurt.
EDIT: no change in formula intake of course
Re: milk in sippy with meals
I would ask your pedi to be sure. Some doctors say a year, some say it's okay earlier. I'm still breastfeeding and I asked ours if it would be okay to introduce whole cow's milk at 11 months (telling him that the girls eat cheese, yogurt, etc. and don't appear to be allergic to dairy). He said that sounds fine, but to just be watchful of any allergic reactions since there are a lot of allergens in milk.

We started WCM right at 10.5 months after getting to go ahead with the pedi to start getting DS used to it. He also got one sippy cup of 75% water and 25% sugar free apple juice to help with his poop issues.
If it's not effecting his overall formula intake I wouldn't worry about it.
