Clogged duct already!

I can't believe it, DS isn't even 3 weeks old and the same damn duct that always clogged with DD is at it again. This is the reason I stopped nursing DD at 1 year. I am so uncomfortable right now. I've been applying heat, massaging the area, pumping and nursing. I took Motrin too. I'm worried because of my oversupply that all this pumping will make it worse, but I have to make it better!

Fingers crossed this is not a recurring theme with DS otherwise I might be nursing from one boob only!!!!

Ugh, I am so sorry Hope it clears up. I have issues with my right breast constantly... sometimes I do seriously consider just nursing from the left!

Oh honey, I hear you. Hope it gets better soon. I'm sitting here hugging righty to a heat pad. I don't know if it's a clogged duct (never had one before!) but it's sore to the touch in one spot underneath, and if I lean over I can definitely feel it. 

Sounds like a clogged duct!  They are NO fun!  Sounds like you are doing the right thing, you should also pump often on that side and massage.  It's painful but if you treat it right away USUALLY it goes away in 1-2 days.  Good luck

I was all messed up when we lost power from the hurricane and wasn't able to pump as often.  I had a manual pump that did ok but not enough.  Finally, after all the massaging and pumping, DS finally cleared it and it was instantaneous relief.  That whole "point their nose towards the clog" really held true for me.  I had to hold him in the football hold so definitely try switching up positions.

Ditto PP on the lecithin. I have heard that it works wonders for those who are prone to clogs.
